Dear guys.

Im Jose and im the proud owner of maybe, the oldest known 2.3 16v (Engine 0007 Gearbox 00027) built in October 1983.

Making a research about the history of my car, which Mercedes kindly helped giving me some information, my objective is now to know the following:

- Who where the owner between 1984 and 1988?
- Was my car in Nurburgring race?

According to the EVO Magazine report of Senna car in Nurburgring 84, which vin said that is (Engine 0038 and Gearbox 00058), they said that all the cars were exact equals but i found some things that are not correct.

1- In EVO magazine footage and in Mercedes Benz Museum, Senna car has SunRoof, electric passenger seat and 2 switches in the top dash.
2- If all the cars were equals, Lauda car is certified not to have sunroof, no electric passenger seat, only one switch in the top dash. and its quite more equal to mine model.

So, in case Senna car is Senna car, and Lauda car is Lauda car, one thing is certain... Cars were not equal.

Here some pics and the report from Mercedes Benz about my car, which they certify that was an Homologation Car and even the name was different W201 190E 2.3 Sport . But, from what i see in Laudas car (i dont have the FIN), is really similar in terms of equipment.

From what i heard, my car born without radio and without Klima. Klima was later fitted at Mercedes Benz and thats why i want to know who the owners were after MB. Im sure was someone important, whether inside MB, a journalist, or a famous person.

Well, thats one of the facts that makes me think about an Nring car... maybe the easiest will be to lift the carpet and see something of a bolted rollcage...

Im more on the NON Nring car than on a Nring car... But for be 100% sure, i need to know who was the guy that bought the car from MB

Found something really cool in my car today... It has reinforcements for Roll Cage...

I thought... What if i lift the car and cheq for potential rollcage mounts... Took a look on Laudas and Sennas cars and i found out that they had the rollcage mounted on the door step.. So i remove the plastic that holds the carpet, lifted the carpet (picture is from rear door but is same in front), and there it was the reinforcement and the hole for the bolted cage...

I would like to have the old german registration of the car... But i went to Ahrweiler car registration and they said that they have nothing with this FIN because, once the car was exported (as it happened in 88), after 7 years they delete everything... BUT, from the 702 colour cars that you can see in the media with similar characteristics to my car, the potential plates i found are:

S HC 4589
BB KL120
BB VY20
BB ST410 (no wipers in the lights so prob not)
S HH 7801

I believe that sum insider in MB might go to paper files and cheq. Also, maybe, in Böblingen Register Office or Stuttgart, they can track back this plates...

Well. A guy called Michael Jung from Daimler, said to me that he cannot confirm if car was in that race or not. My feeling is that they have some data entered in computer servers and there might be some more in papers in document deposits or so.

I believe that the key guy to know about my car, must be Gerhard Lepler, but i dont have his contact.

Ok. As soon as back from Argentina ill try to buy it. Anyway, i believe that Mr. Lepler must be the guy that can say "I remember this car".
